Wind

Vertical Axis Wind Turbines (VAWT)

Unlike traditional windmills, VAWTs do not need to change direction to face the wind and are not a danger to birds, the energy generating elements are on the ground, which is safer and does not require massive effort to access, will work in low wind conditions, will work in crosswinds, can be made from junk and generally require far less finnesse and aeronautical engineering.
Neodymium magnet washers can be placed perpendicular to the main axis, repelling each other and making the fans “float” with awesome mag-lev science that will last practically forever!

Drawbacks – high torque
