Underground Living

Underground or earth covered building is undoubtedly the best option for a truly sustainable home. But, it is often limited to certain designs based on terrain, soil types and price.

Reliable ventilation is essential in any underground home.
If a structure has areas that amenuunderground300160re below the level of any doors or windows, heavier than air gasses such as Radon may pool inside.
Due to the excellent thermal mass and insulation of underground homes, the ventilation is also necessary to help prevent condensation and moisture from creating damp areas in humid climates.
